>> jeff pegues in washington. thanks, jeff. >>> for more on the news conference we're joined by jonathan allen, senior correspondent for politico. good morning to you sfwhood morning to you. >> let's talk about the pointed claims by the republicans. listening to his speech it was hard not to hear him talk about obama care and immigration. so how are republicans responding? >> republicans are saying obama's health care law has been a disaster, the proof is in the pudding and the president needs to back off the so-called mandate that employers give health care to full-time employees and that the individual mandate, sort of the big part of this in terms of making it work with insurers is something that should also be put off until next year. so they're saying the law is a mess and the president will say that they want to deny health care to 30 million americans. and also in addition to that they want to shut down the government to make sure that happens. perhaps the most sharp point that he's put on his view of this
